How UVC air cleaning works
A high-intensity UVC lamp disinfects the air passing through your duct system by neutralizing airborne pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, and mould. According to the U.S. EPA, combining filtration with germicidal UVC light is an effective way to help reduce the spread of airborne viruses in occupied spaces.
With ultraviolet light, output matters. BioForce Defender 16-inch UVC lamps produce 180 microwatts at 1 metre, about 330% higher output than standard UVC lamps on the market. The 12-inch lamps produce 150 microwatts at 1 metre.

High-Power Systems
One lamp (or two lamps) controls bacteria, viruses, and mould spores, while an additional, adjustable lamp can be used to oxidizes gases and removes odours. Lamps last about 27,000 hours, or three years, before needing replacement. An auto-sensing ballast handles 120 to 277 volts AC automatically, and LED monitors confirm the system is working. Available with 16-inch or 12-inch lamps.
Economy Coil UVC Lamp
The BioFender™ germicidal UVC lamp installs directly at the cooling coil to kill biological growth on the coil and nearby surfaces. Its 14-inch lamp produces 55 microwatts at 1 metre. A built-in countdown timer lets you know exactly when the lamp needs replacing, and the unit includes a dual-purpose mounting kit for in-duct or duct board installation.
